Our mission
Hounslow is on an exciting journey of transformation with digital embedded at the very heart. Our work will improve the lives of our communities through improved digital services, skills and connectivity.
Our vision is to create connected and inclusive communities supported by innovative and digitally-optimised services.
Our ambitious journey of transformation aims to put the community firmly at the centre of everything the council does, and our digital strategy underpins this transformation.
Working for Hounslow
Hounslow is a very special area of London, with excellent transport links and a wealth of heritage attractions, beautiful parks, open country areas and riverside walks.
The borough stretches 23 miles from Bedfont Lakes Country Park, just south of Heathrow Airport, to leafy Chiswick in the east, where the River Thames winds its way along the southern boundary. Within the borough, you’ll find miles of rivers, canals and nature reserves, beautiful parks and open spaces, and five historic houses.
The borough is also home to quiet suburbs, greenbelt villages, modern housing, and cosmopolitan districts. It’s home to a real community of communities, with over 270,000 residents. Hounslow is one the most culturally diverse areas in the UK and we’re proud to reflect and serve this vibrant population.
We predominantly work remotely with some travel to / within Hounslow when needed – usually at least once a week, depending on the role. We offer flexible working and do not anticipate that you will need to work in Hounslow five days a week. However, it’s important that you will be able to travel to Hounslow when required.
Our offer to you
We reward hard work and expertise with a wide variety of benefits. You can expect extensive learning opportunities, the chance to develop and flexible working options. You’ll have access to tech to work remotely, a generous and safe pension scheme, a season ticket loan and staff wellbeing services. And that’s only the start.
Diversity and inclusion
We value diversity in its broadest sense. We’re committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone is able to be themselves, give of their best and reach their full potential. We believe that a diverse workforce helps us to better understand our communities and deliver the best services for our residents.
We want to receive applications from all regardless of age, gender identity, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, religion or belief, race or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, transgender status or social economic background.
We want to harness the mix and ensure that everybody can apply and be part of our recruitment processes. We will make reasonable adjustments to accommodate our candidates.
